Abstract

In Das Wesen des Christendom Ludwig Feuerbach translates the revelation of God in Christ into the language of anthropology, thus discovering that man’s love for man is the essence of Christianity and at the same time the true human nature. In sum: Homo hominis Deus est. But there is an untranslatable remainder: Christian faith in the personal God. In the light of Derrida’s considerations, one can say that it is precisely in the perspective of untranslatable that the relationship between the text and its translation opens up.
