On the philosophical life in Hadot and Wittgenstein

Abstract
Wittgenstein’s influence in twentieth-century philosophical thought is a fact that needs no further comment. However, this cannot be said about its effective reception and about which authors were actually indebted to its speculation. Pierre Hadot is among them. In fact, Hadot’s debt to Wittgenstein does not stop at suggestions and, so to speak, with indications on the research paths to be undertaken in the history of ancient philosophy topics, but rather radically theoretical. This essay therefore tries to bring the two philosophies together, with a main focus on the French philosopher, with the aim of bringing out the concept of philosophical life, whereby the theory always has an impact on existence and ethics and philosophy is the way to live wisely the world.
